Computer vs. Customer

Foot Pedal Blues

An exasperated caller complained that she could not get her new computer to start.

Customer: "I’ve pushed and pushed this foot pedal and nothing happens."

Tech: "Foot pedal?"

Customer: "Yea, this little white foot pedal with the on-switch."

Apparently, the customer was referring the mouse.

A common question

Where’s the "any" key?… as in PRESS ANY KEY.

Fax isn’t working

A customer was having trouble faxing a document from his computer. After 40 minutes, the tech discovered the man was trying to fax a piece of paper by holding it in front of the monitor screen and hitting the "SEND" key.

Calm Down

One tech calmed an irate customer who was enraged because his customer told him he as bad and an invalid…. The tech explained patiently that "bad command" and "invalid" responses should not be taken personally.
